Clarence Pickett (1884-1965) was a prominent Friend. The executive secretary of the American Friends Service Committee from 1929 to 1950, he was influential in governmental and international circles as well. He served as an advisor to Presidents Hoover, Roosevelt, Truman and Kennedy. George Arthur Selleck (1899-1980) was a birthright Quaker, son of Guy B. and Cora Gain Selleck. He m. 1 Florence M. Gifford in 1925 and m. 2 Daisy Newman in 1978.
